I Paint What I Think

Children Aesthetic Education Graduation Exhibition

 Aini Zhou

Preface

The famous German philosopher Immanuel Kant once quoted in his judgement on aesthetics: “a direct interest in natural beauty is always a sign of goodness of heart”.

To capture and to express straightforwardly are the spiritual pursuit of Aini Zhou shown in her artworks. From her masterpiece, we can feel and sense her pair of kind, innocent, beautiful yet deep eyes. It is the reflection of her great passion in life and her embracement in both natural and man-made beauty. Hence, from her art, we can feel her genuine enthusiasm and extraordinary maturity in expression.

Portfolio and Interview

Dachu Studio: "Do you like painting?"

Answer: "Yes! Painting makes my life exciting. There are a lot of people I draw in my painting accompanying me, they do what I want them to do! Haha.”

Dachu Studio: What's this?

Answer: "I wanted to see under the sea, so I have a fish head. I made it two so it wont be too boring."

“There is so much freedom in painting! Things that are good to listen, eat, see and play. I paint what I Think!"

Dachu Studio: Why the other three guys don’t have a face?

Answer: "The one with a face is my mum. My teacher wanted me to paint something about my mum. I feel that mum is a mum when she is together with us, and we just need to be there with her. My mum is very beautiful, so I draw long lashes for her."

Dachu Studio: Are you singing?

Answer: "You know what, I am listening this song all the day. You should listen it too."

Dachu Studio: He looks angry, is he?

Answer: "Maybe, yea, he might be a bit angry because his face is broken."

"This is my graduation design, I wanted to paint my favourite doll."

"I like doll as well as dressing her up. I always think about what clothes make her looks better, so I paint the moment how I choose clothes for her."

Dachu Studio: Are there two of you?

Answer: "I wanted to make sure if she looks good in left side. In the mean time, I should also make sure she look good in right side. Then, she will look good in both side on the stage."
