1st Breakthrough Art Competition

The Dachu Cup: 1st Breakthrough Art Competition (London Zone)


  • (Oxford Residency Program for Young Artists)

Event Objectives:

  1. Break through the barriers of art education and expand the boundaries of foundational enlightenment education with a broad perspective, using art enlightenment to drive artistic development.
  2. Break free from the template of art education, removing age restrictions and definitions, and pursue the essence of art at its roots.
  3. Provide opportunities for young art enthusiasts to showcase their talents and enhance their artistic skills.
  4. Explore the fusion of art and academia, providing selected students with opportunities for exchange and learning with professors from the Oxford University Art College and renowned contemporary artists.
  5. Increase students' awareness and interest in the field of art, providing inspiration and support for their future development.

Event Details:


The Great Elm Cup: 1st Breakthrough Art Competition

Eligibility:

  1. Age restriction: 4-16 years old
  2. Area restriction: Local young artists in London
  3. Experience requirement: Open to both professional and non-professional artists.

Submission Requirements:

  1. Format: No restrictions (oil painting, sketching, watercolor, traditional Chinese painting, sculpture, photography, etc.)
  2. Size and medium: Artworks should not exceed 100cm × 100cm in size, with a duration of no more than 5 minutes. Medium is unlimited.
  3. Quantity restriction: Each participant can submit a maximum of one artwork.
  4. Original works

Submission of Artworks:

  1. Deadline and method: The submission deadline for artworks is July 1, 2023, through an online submission system.
  2. File requirements: Artworks should be submitted in high-resolution image format, with file formats in JPEG or PNG and a file size not exceeding 10MB.

Evaluation Criteria and Process:

  1. Evaluation criteria: Creativity, technique, expressiveness, etc.
  2. Evaluation process: The preliminary selection will be conducted by judges to determine the finalists. The final round will involve expert evaluations and the final ranking.

Awards: Gold Prize: 1

winners Excellence Prize: 15 winners

Announcement and Awards: 

Announcement: The list of winners will be published on the official competition website and social media platforms. Award Ceremony: An award ceremony will be held at the University of Oxford (including a formal dinner). Winners are required to personally attend the ceremony to receive their awards.

Copyright and Exhibition:

  1. Copyright regulations: Participants retain the copyright of their works, but the organizers have the right to display and promote the award-winning works. Participants agree that the organizers can use the works in exhibitions and promotional materials.
  2. Artwork exhibition: The award-winning works will be exhibited at the University of Oxford.

Registration and Painting Competition:

  1. The registration deadline is July 1, 2023.
  2. The painting competition will be held within one week after the registration deadline.
  3. Students who achieve a ranking in the painting competition will have the opportunity to participate in the Oxford Residency Program for Young Artists.

Residency Program Details


Day 1 of the Residency Program:

  1. Arrival at the residency location: Check-in at the student dormitories of the University of Oxford, rest for a while, and introduce the specific activities and program content.
  2. On-site painting guidance: Doctoral students from the University of Oxford Art College will provide on-site painting guidance together with teachers from the Great Elm Studio. Students can showcase their creativity and artistic skills with professional guidance. They can also interact and exchange ideas with mentors and other outstanding young artists.
  3. Dinner: In the evening, the award-winning students will participate in a formal dinner at the University of Oxford.

Day 2 of the Residency Program:

  1. On-site exhibition: An on-site exhibition will be organized within the University of Oxford campus to showcase the selected award-winning students' paintings.
  2. Academic symposium: Professors and doctoral supervisors from the University of Oxford Art College will organize an academic symposium to share professional knowledge and experiences with the selected students. They will provide explanations and discussions on artistic creation, creating an academic teaching environment for cross-disciplinary exchanges.
  3. Award ceremony: Professors from the University of Oxford Art College will announce the first, second, and third prize winners and present awards to the winners. They will also write recommendation letters to recognize the winners' talent and efforts in the field of art.

活动目标:

1,突破艺术教育壁垒,用高眼界打开基础启蒙教育的边界,让艺术启蒙带动艺术发展。

2,突破艺术教育模版,艺术不再被年龄限制和定义,从根源追求艺术本质。

3,提供机会给青少年艺术爱好者展示才华并提升其艺术技能。

4,探索艺术与学术的融合,为入选学生提供与牛津大学艺术学院教授,著名当代艺术家的交流学习机会。

5,增加学生对艺术领域的认识和兴趣,为其未来发展提供启迪和支持。


活动内容:

大樗杯·首届新突破艺术大赛  


参赛资格:

1,年龄限制:4-16岁

2,地区限制:伦敦本地青少年艺术家

3,经验要求:对于专业或非专业画家均开放。


参赛作品要求:

1,形式:不限(油画,素描,水彩,国画,雕塑,摄影等)

2,尺寸和媒介:作品尺寸不超过100cm × 100cm,时长不超过5分钟,媒介无限制。

3,数量限制:每位参赛者最多提交一幅作品。

4,原创作品


提交作品:

1,截止日期和方式:作品提交截止日期为2023年7月1日,通过在线提交系统进行。

公示和颁奖:

公示方式:公布获奖名单在比赛官方网站、社交媒体平台上进行公示。

颁奖仪式:在牛津大学举行颁奖典礼(包括正式晚宴),获奖者需亲自领奖。


版权和展览:

1,版权规定:参赛者保留作品的版权,但主办方有权展示和宣传获奖作品,参赛者同意主办方在展览和宣传材料中使用作品。

2,作品展览:获奖作品将在牛津大学进行展览展示。


报名与绘画比赛:

1,报名截止日期为2023年07月1日。

2,绘画比赛将在报名截止后一周内举行。

3,绘画比赛取得名次的学生将有机会进入青少年牛津艺术家驻留计划当中。


驻留计划详情


驻留计划第一天:

1,抵达驻地:入住牛津大学学生宿舍,稍作休整,介绍具体活动流程内容

2,现场绘画指导:牛津大学艺术学院的博士生将与大樗书房老师一起指导入选学生进行现场绘画。学生可以借助专业指导,展示他们的创造力和艺术技巧。也与导师和其他优秀的青少年艺术家进行交流和互动。

3,晚宴:晚上,获奖学生将参加牛津大学正餐晚宴。

驻留计划第二天:

1,现场展览:在牛津大学学院内组织现场展览,展示入选获奖学生的绘画作品。

2,学术研讨会:牛津大学艺术学院的教授,博士生导师将组织学术研讨会,与入选学生分享专业知识和经验,进行艺术创作的讲解和讨论。形成跨壁垒交流的学术教学现场。

3,颁奖仪式:牛津大学艺术学院教授揭晓一二三等奖获奖名单,并为获奖学生颁发奖项并撰写推荐信,以表彰他们在艺术方面的才能和努力。
